ADHD Coach in San Mateo | ADHD Burnout & Executive Function

Some weeks hyperfocus carries a project through in a single sitting, and other weeks the starting line is hard to find. Many adults come to coaching hoping to make sense of that unevenness.

Adults across town work with me for ADHD coaching in San Mateo, from downtown along B Street and Central Park to Baywood, Bay Meadows, and the neighborhoods around Hillsdale.

Sessions start with your own observations. We look at what your weeks have been like and choose something to explore together.

How it works

We dig in and get curious

Your first step is a free discovery call. You can share what's going on and what kind of support you're looking for, and we can both get a sense of whether working together makes sense. Ongoing sessions are held over video, weekly or every other week, based on your capacity.

We see whether coaching fits

Before any strategy comes into it, we talk through what your days look like, where momentum drops off, what tends to help on a good day, and what gets pushed aside when things pile up.

We try things and adjust

From there, we experiment. That might mean looking at routines, transitions, planning, communication, rest, or how decisions get made. What helps gets kept, what doesn't gets changed, and you leave with more options for when life shifts again.

Hyperfocus can pull you deep into one task while everything else waits. In ADHD coaching, we look at when hyperfocus helps you, when it costs you, and how to plan around it so your days feel less unpredictable. We test a few approaches and keep the ones that hold up.

Willpower and lists may have carried you for years before ADHD entered the conversation. ADHD coaching for women offers a space to look at what those years have taught you, what you'd like to change, and what kind of help would feel supportive now.

If you're still getting everything done but feel exhausted most of the time, burnout might be part of the story. ADHD burnout coaching looks at the pressures adding up in your life and helps you find ways to recover and protect your energy over time.

Perimenopause may change how familiar ADHD patterns show up, from memory slips to shifts in motivation. In ADHD & perimenopause coaching, we can notice and track those changes and try routines that match where you are today. Your own notes from the week are a good place to start.

Learning you have ADHD as an adult can lead you to look at your past with new eyes. Late diagnosed ADHD coaching helps you explore those insights, decide which patterns you'd like to work with, and move forward in a way that feels right to you.

Every job comes with its own mix of demands, and some of them land harder with ADHD. In ADHD career coaching, we look at what your work asks of you and find strategies, boundaries, and possible next steps that suit your goals.

If burnout is part of the picture, ADHD burnout coaching may help too.

Novelty can light up creative work, while repetition may feel like wading through mud. ADHD & creatives coaching explores how to keep your creative work fresh while still moving projects toward completion, at a pace that feels good to you.

Testimonials

"I learned a lot working with Quinn. We mapped out a lot of my ADHD patterns and Quinn helped me see many things that I was doing that were not necessarily helping me. Quinn also offered frameworks and tools to help support me when that is what the situation called for."

 Michael H.

"I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to work with Quinn. It was an incredibly valuable experience for me. I looked forward to every session, and each one brought new insights. Quinn helped me work through several deeply important challenges, and I feel much more grounded and self-aware as a result. I wholeheartedly recommend Quinn to anyone navigating neurodiversity in their daily life, but not only. Even without ADHD, she is an exceptional coach and one of those rare professionals who can truly change the trajectory of someone's life."

Masha O.

"There is always more to learn and reflect upon; that is what I have learned the most about myself through Quinn's excellent coaching. Despite having a relatively deep understanding of myself and my ADHD, a competent coach's skill is to foster further self-reflection and to allow the client room to trust themselves in this deeper quest for self-understanding. Quinn has a mastery in knowing when to give me space, when to ask a thought-provoking question, and when to remind me of my wins/strengths. I am thankful for this perspective, which coaching offers to those with ADHD, and for its strength-based approach rather than one of brokenness and negativity. Yes, ADHDers need assistance and strategies with living in a world made for neurotypicals, but sometimes we just need to be reminded that despite it all, we are whole and we are okay."

Hello, I'm Quinn Geear, an ADHD coach in San Mateo for adults across the Peninsula

As the founder of Quinn Geear Coaching, I bring my own story to this work. I was diagnosed with ADHD in my forties after years in IT leadership, and I trained as a coach through ADD Coach Academy.

Making collages by hand has been a practice of mine for over a decade. The adults on my calendar are often sorting through burnout or a late diagnosis, and many are also handling perimenopause, a career shift, or a creative pursuit.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does an ADHD coach actually do?

An ADHD coach works alongside you to understand how your attention, energy, and motivation move, then builds practical strategies and accountability around that. With me, that also includes strengths anchoring, values based strategy, and support across every part of your life, not only productivity.

  • How long do you typically work with clients?

That depends on where you're starting and what you're working toward. Most clients find their footing within three to six months, and many continue longer for ongoing accountability and support. We figure out the right pace together as the work unfolds.

  • Will insurance pay for an ADHD coach?

ADHD coaching typically isn't covered by health insurance. It is, however, eligible for FSA and HSA funds, as long as you have a Letter of Medical Necessity from your doctor showing coaching is part of your ADHD care.

  • Do I need a diagnosis to start coaching with you?

No. I work with adults at every stage of understanding their own ADHD: some with a recent diagnosis, some with one from decades ago they never revisited, and some who have never been formally evaluated and are working from a long held hunch. If a formal evaluation is the right next step for you, I can refer you to a psychiatrist for an assessment.
