ADHD Coach in Berkeley | ADHD Burnout & Executive Function
Adults find their way to coaching for many reasons. A promotion that added more moving parts, a diagnosis that reframed old memories, or a creative practice that faded are some of the most common.
The adults I work with for ADHD coaching in Berkeley live all over the city: the Elmwood, the Lorin District near Ashby BART, North Berkeley along Shattuck Avenue, and the hills above the Berkeley Rose Garden.
Our sessions look at what ordinary weeks are like for you. We notice where things flow, where they snag, and choose one place to experiment.
How it works
We dig in and get curious
Your first step is a free discovery call. You can share what's going on and what kind of support you're looking for, and we can both get a sense of whether working together makes sense. Ongoing sessions are held over video, weekly or every other week, based on your capacity.
We see whether coaching fits
Before any strategy comes into it, we talk through what your days look like, where momentum drops off, what tends to help on a good day, and what gets pushed aside when things pile up.
We try things and adjust
From there, we experiment. That might mean looking at routines, transitions, planning, communication, rest, or how decisions get made. What helps gets kept, what doesn't gets changed, and you leave with more options for when life shifts again.

For some adults, email, forms, and small administrative tasks take up a surprising amount of energy. A good part of ADHD coaching is tracing where that friction comes from and trying different ways to move through it. Sometimes the change is as small as when or where a task gets done.
Plenty of women with ADHD have built impressive coping strategies that quietly cost a lot to keep running. In ADHD coaching for women, we look at which of those strategies still serve you and which ones you might set down. You decide what stays.
Burnout can feel like running on fumes while still meeting every deadline. With ADHD burnout coaching, we pay attention to recovery, boundaries, and the expectations you've absorbed, and decide what's next together. Some weeks the most useful step is to subtract something.
Perimenopause can bring changes to memory, sleep, focus, and patience that make familiar routines feel unreliable. ADHD & perimenopause coaching offers time to sort through what's shifted and experiment with adjustments. Your notes from the week often guide where we go.
A late diagnosis can offer a new frame for experiences that once felt confusing. Through late diagnosed ADHD coaching, you can explore that frame at your own speed and decide which insights to act on. Some people come in with questions, others with a long list of memories to revisit.
Maybe parts of your job feel energizing and others leave you stuck. Within ADHD career coaching, we can look at the specific tasks, meetings, or relationships that drain you and test changes that feel sustainable. Bigger questions about direction are welcome too.
Artists, writers, musicians, and makers with ADHD often have more ideas than hours. ADHD & creatives coaching supports you in choosing, starting, and staying with the projects that matter to you, at a pace that feels kind. Your creative rhythm doesn't need to match anyone else's.

Testimonials
"I learned a lot working with Quinn. We mapped out a lot of my ADHD patterns and Quinn helped me see many things that I was doing that were not necessarily helping me. Quinn also offered frameworks and tools to help support me when that is what the situation called for."
Michael H.
"I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to work with Quinn. It was an incredibly valuable experience for me. I looked forward to every session, and each one brought new insights. Quinn helped me work through several deeply important challenges, and I feel much more grounded and self-aware as a result. I wholeheartedly recommend Quinn to anyone navigating neurodiversity in their daily life, but not only. Even without ADHD, she is an exceptional coach and one of those rare professionals who can truly change the trajectory of someone's life."
Masha O.
"There is always more to learn and reflect upon; that is what I have learned the most about myself through Quinn's excellent coaching. Despite having a relatively deep understanding of myself and my ADHD, a competent coach's skill is to foster further self-reflection and to allow the client room to trust themselves in this deeper quest for self-understanding. Quinn has a mastery in knowing when to give me space, when to ask a thought-provoking question, and when to remind me of my wins/strengths. I am thankful for this perspective, which coaching offers to those with ADHD, and for its strength-based approach rather than one of brokenness and negativity. Yes, ADHDers need assistance and strategies with living in a world made for neurotypicals, but sometimes we just need to be reminded that despite it all, we are whole and we are okay."

Hello, I'm Quinn Geear, an ADHD coach in Berkeley for adults in the East Bay
Quinn Geear Coaching grew out of my own late ADHD diagnosis, which came in my forties. After years in IT leadership, I trained at ADD Coach Academy and built a practice for adults in seasons of change.
I've been making analog collage for over a decade, and I know how much creative time can mean. Much of my work centers on burnout and late diagnosis, with perimenopause, career questions, and creative goals close behind.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does an ADHD coach actually do?
An ADHD coach works alongside you to understand how your attention, energy, and motivation move, then builds practical strategies and accountability around that. With me, that also includes strengths anchoring, values based strategy, and support across every part of your life, not only productivity.
How long do you typically work with clients?
That depends on where you're starting and what you're working toward. Most clients find their footing within three to six months, and many continue longer for ongoing accountability and support. We figure out the right pace together as the work unfolds.
Will insurance pay for an ADHD coach?
ADHD coaching typically isn't covered by health insurance. It is, however, eligible for FSA and HSA funds, as long as you have a Letter of Medical Necessity from your doctor showing coaching is part of your ADHD care.
Do I need a diagnosis to start coaching with you?
No. I work with adults at every stage of understanding their own ADHD: some with a recent diagnosis, some with one from decades ago they never revisited, and some who have never been formally evaluated and are working from a long held hunch. If a formal evaluation is the right next step for you, I can refer you to a psychiatrist for an assessment.
